Caran dAche Pastel Cubes are like hard pastel sticks. Caran dAche use completely natural binders, which gives the pastels a powdery texture and great covering-power. They are particularly useful for blocking in large areas of colour or for creating vibrant backgrounds, as they can be used flat against the paper.

For finely detailed work, use the corners of these square pastels or sharpen the ends of the sticks using sandpaper, pencil sharpeners or penknives.
