Gilder’s tip is useful for extracting the leaf from the book once cut and transferring it from the cushion to the surface to decorate. For better use of the tool you are advised to rub the gilder’s tip on the skin before moving the leaf: the heat, slight oiliness of the skin and the electrostatic effect of the rubbing makes removing the leaf easier.
